In 22 years (1964-85) coached 29 sectional champions, 11 regional, and 20 conference championship teams at Bloomington High/South. At IU (1999-2004) coached 6 All-Americans, 16 Big Ten champions. Indiana Cross Country Coach of the Year in 1973 and Track Coach of the Year in 1980. Inducted into the Indiana Track and Cross Country Hall of Fame in 1994 and the University of Indianapolis Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005. Manager of Officials for the 1984 U.S. Olympic Games in 1984, Manager of Officials for first Indoor World Championships In Indianapolis in 1987, and Manager of Officials for Olympic Trials in Los Angeles in 1984 and Indianapolis in 1988. Founding member and Director of the Indiana Track and Field and Cross Country Hall of Fame Museum. Eminent Indiana track historian, writes and publishes Hoosier Trackman and Goss’ Cross Country trivia.
