Head football coach at IU from 1984-96, where he became winningest coach in IU history with 66 wins. Twice named Big Ten Coach of the Year, led teams to 6 bowl games winning 2. Contributions to community are many – for 5 years organizing and conducting football camp for high youth and middle school coaches (sponsored by Bloomington Hospital), teaching fundamentals of game and preventing injuries. Served as fund raiser for Boys and Girls Club, Children’s Organ Transplant Association, Jill’s House, Salvation Army, First Methodist Church, Phi Kappa Tau, and Monroe County Fair. Served as advisor to Bloomington City Recreation Department and Bloomington Hospital Health and Wellness Committee.
