2020 Scholarship Winners

Taylor Thomas – Edgewood High School – Soccer, Gymnastics, Softball

3-year shortstop for softball team; member of 2 sectional champion teams; All-Area First Team 2019; .434 batting average; goalkeeper for soccer team; helped revive gymnastics team after 35 year absence; Academic All-State; National Honor Society; Intermediate School Faculty Scholarship; ISU/May Agency Scholarship; Olney Central College Scholarship.

 

Joe Kido – Edgewood High School – Basketball, Baseball

4-year starter in both sports; All-Area in baseball two years; basketball one year; point guard for 2018 Wabash Valley champions; 2018 sectional champs; 2019 conference champs; Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association All-Star; leadoff man for Edgewood’s baseball state finalist team; Indiana State academic scholarship; Cowden Scholarship; invited to walk-on for Indiana State baseball.

 

Jordon Monson – Bloomington High School South – Soccer, Track and Field

4-time All-Area in track; state qualifier in 300 hurdles and 1600 relay junior and senior years; at 2019 sectional was 1st in 300 hurdles, 2nd in 100 hurdles, 3rd in long jump, 3rd in 1600 relay; 12th in 300 hurdles at state; school record-holder in 300 hurdles; 4.50 GPA; Lilly Scholarship finalist; will run track at St. Louis University.

 

Wilson Zinkan – Bloomington High School South – Cross Country, Track and Field

2-time All-Area in cross country and track; state qualifier in cross country, 800, 1600; 4th in 1600 at state; posted perfect SAT score; school’s highest GPA (4.565); Academic All-State; Lilly Scholarship finalist; academic scholarship to Notre Dame; invited walk-on for Notre Dame track and field team.

Deb Jones – Bloomington High School North – Softball

4-year letter-winner and 3-time All-Area; career includes 2 no-hitters and a 14-inning marathon against West Vigo in which she threw 211 pitches and struck out 26; overcame arm injury senior year to post a 0.67 ERA with 81 strikeouts in 54 innings; team MVP; All-Conference Indiana; will continue career at Ball State.

 

Dylan Steele – Bloomington High School North – Baseball

Indiana University-bound as two-way baseball player; holds North school pitching record for strikeouts (215); 2nd in starts; .364 career batting average; 4th in hits, runs, RBIs; Herald-Times All-Area 3 years; Player of the Year 2018; 2019 team MVP; All-Conference Indiana; Honors Diploma; Tony Laughman Scholarship.
