2018 Scholarship Winners
Taylor Acuff – Edgewood High School – Basketball, Softball, Track and Field
Nicknamed “The Tank”, Acuff emerged as a slugger on the Mustang softball team and a powerful thrower in track and field, simultaneously competing in two spring sports and making All-Area in both, following and All-Area season in basketball; 2-time All-State in softball, making North-South All-Star squad her senior year; conference champion in discus her sophomore year and shot put champ her junior year; regional qualifier in both events her senior year; Academic All-State in softball; Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete; Lions Club Scholarship; will attend Ivy Tech.
Zane Sullivan – Edgewood High School – Wrestling
28-5 senior season resulted in a trip to state; 7th all-time in career wins at Edgewood with 115, 5th all-time in points, 6th all-time in takedowns; 2-time regional champion; 3-time conference champion; 2-time All-Area First Team; will continue wrestling career at Kentucky Wesleyan.
MacKenzie Looze – Bloomington High School South – Swimming
3-time state medalist with 4 medals her senior year; school record-holder in 4 events; Herald-Times Swimmer of the Year; President’s Award for Academic Excellence; Wendy Ware Inspirational Award; Academic All-Conference; daughter of Indiana University swim coach Ray Looze, she will continue her career at IU.
Chance Coyle – Bloomington High School South – Basketball
4th highest scorer in county history with 1553 points (first among 4-year players at South); named to the Indiana All-Star Team; Herald-Timers Player of the Year; Associated Press Third Team; second in career rebounds at South; Donald Childs Memorial Medal; Academic All-Conference; Honors Diploma; athletic scholarship to University of Southern Indiana.
Grace Williams – Bloomington High School North – Cross Country, Track and Fiel
Herald Times Track Athlete of the Year in 2017; 4-time all-state in track and cross country; 4-time sectional and regional champ in track and cross country; 3 top-10 finishes at state track meet; 3 top-30 finishes at state cross country meets; Amigo Scholarship winner; Principal’s Scholarship; Honors Diploma; will attend University of New Mexico.
Mac Rogers – Bloomington High School North – Tennis
Runner-up in state tournament his senior year; 2-time Herald-Times Tennis Player of the Year; helped North to 3rd place finish in 2016 tournament; 48-4 record last 2 years and 64-13 career record in singles; National Honor Society; Academic All-State; Lilly Endowment Scholarship; will continue career at Indiana University.
