Laura Luther – Edgewood High School – Basketball, Softball, Soccer

Three-sport high achiever. She reached the elite eight in two sports, basketball and softball. She is Edgewood’s all-time steals leader in girls’ basketball and led the Mustangs to the regional finals. She also was the MVP of the soccer team. A four-year letterwinner and three-time first team all-area midfielder at Edgewood… twice named all-conference and was selected for the 2010 East-West Indiana All-Star Game…served as team captain for two years and was Team MVP for three years…also won the team’s leadership award…helped the team to a conference championship as a freshman in 2007…National Honor Society member and honor roll student…played club soccer for the Bloomington Cutters as a youth and more recently for Center Grove X-Factor…also played basketball and softball.

 

Jared Simoneaux – Edgewood High School – Soccer, Track, Rugby

Came to Monroe County as a displaced resident of Louisiana, the result of Hurricane Katrina. He has participated in soccer, track and rugby. Named Mustang Award winner in 2011. (2012 update) Attends Louisiana Tech University-named to Dean’s List in spring 2012.

 

Ashley Lewandowski – Bloomington High School South – Soccer, Cross Country, Track

Participated in three sports at South — soccer, cross country and track — and will have earned 11 varsity letters upon graduation. Honors include: AHD; President’s Award for Education Excellence; Conference Indiana Academic Award; LOTS Senior; $1,000 renewable Distinguished Trustees Scholarship; $2,000 renewable Highland Award; $2,650 renewable Heritage Grant; $12,000 renewable Dean’s Scholarship; $500 Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame; Fred Huff Mental Attitude Award

 

Dylan Anderson – Bloomington High School North – Football, Track

Two-sport star at North. He captained this year’s football team that won the school’s first sectional and regional titles. He also qualified in three events in last year’s state track meet. Honors include: West Point USMAPS Academic Athletic Full Scholarship – $350,000 ($70,000/Year); Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship – $500; DAR Good Citizen Award; US Army Reserve National Scholar/Athlete; United States Marine Corps Scholastic Excellence Award; Conference Indiana Scholar Athlete; L.O.T.S. Senior

 

Jordan Barker – Bloomington North High School – Golf

Barker has played varsity golf for three years at North and was named the team’s most improved player after her sophomore season. Honors include: Marian University St. Clare Award – $10,500; Marian University Athletic Scholarship – $6,000; Marian University Fine Arts Talent Award – $6,000; Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship – $500; Isaiah Stroup Memorial Scholarship – $300; Conference Indiana Scholar Athlete; Outstanding Achievement in Communication Arts – Photography; Four Year Honor Roll; Academic Honors Diploma

 

Darren Mehay – Bloomington High School South – Swimming

Mehay specialized in the butterfly and intermediate medley at South. Honors include: Principal’s Scholar Award; AHD; President’s Award for Education Excellence; National Honor Society; Conference Indiana Academic Award; LOTS Senior; $4,000 renewable Indiana University Prestige Scholarship; $500 Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame
