Due to the ongoing pandemic and the health and safety concerns moving forward, the Board of Directors has cancelled the Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony for 2020. The 10-person 2020 induction class of athletes, coaches and contributors/humanitarians will now be honored on July 9, 2021 – so circle that date on your calendar! Even though we will not have an induction ceremony this year, we are moving forward on two fronts. With the cooperation of athletic directors at Bloomington North, Bloomington South and Edgewood High Schools, we will still award $1,000 scholarships to the outstanding male and female scholar-athletes as chosen by the schools.
Additionally, we will still honor the 2020 pioneer class that we selected earlier in the year with a plaque that will installed at Fountain Square with the previous nine Hall of Fame classes. We hope that in these difficult times that everyone remains healthy and safe.
