On This Day in 2014 Bloomington South Junior and 2016 Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship Award Winner Cherise Otter won the individual state championship with a 2-round score of 144 at the IHSAA Girls Golf State Finals at the Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel.
In 2002 Bloomington South Senior Sarah Gates tied for 5th in the individual Standings with a 158 Bloomington North shot a 385 and finished 16th Bloomington South Finished 18th with a 397 after day 1 of the IHSAA Girls Golf State Finals the Legends of Indiana Golf Course in Franklin. The Cougars and Panthers missed the cut and did not advance to the second and final day of the state finals. ...

On This Day In 2025 Bloomington South Senior Violet Hall Qualified for the Semifinals of the Women's 200 Meters T 47 Event at the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi India. Hall finished second in her heat with a time of 26.26 and finished 11th overall.
In 2025 2011 Bloomington North Graduate Ray Leonard was Inducted into the Ball State University Athletics Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025. Leonard was the number 1 singles player that helped the Cardinals win back-to-back Mid-American Conference Titles in 2013 and 2014. Leonard helped Ball State win its seventh MAC Tourney Title in 2014 and claimed its 8th NCAA Tournament Appearance. Ray was a four-time first team All MAC Selection and won the prestigious Jack Vredevelt Sportsmanship Award from the League Office and Five Time MAC Tennis Player of the Week during his career. Ray was State Runner up as a Junior at Bloomington North in 2009.
In 2025 Bloomington South beat Columbus North 55-24 at Columbus North in a Regular Season Football Matchup and win the Conference Indiana Championship with a 5-0 record.
In 2025 Bloomington North beat Columbus East 42-0 in a Regular Season Football Matchup at Bloomington North.
In 2015 2016 Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship Award Winner Cherise Otter of Bloomington South tied second with a two-round score of 151 at the IHSAA Girls Golf State Finals at the Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel. Otter won the Mental Attitude Award as the Panthers tied for 7th with a score of 709.

On This Day In 2025 Bloomington South beat Edgewood 5-0 to win the Boys Tennis Sectional Championship at Bloomington South. It's the fourth straight Sectional Title for Bloomington South and 30th in Program History.

2010 2023 Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame Inductee Ben Chappell was 45-64 Passing for 480 Yards three touchdown passes and 1 interception as the Indiana Hoosiers fell to the Michigan Wolverines 42-35 at Memorial Stadium.
In 2004 Bloomington North Senior Manisha Patel won the Mental Attitude Award at the IHSAA Girls Golf State Finals at the Legends of Indiana Golf Club in Franklin.
In 1999 Bloomington North finished 7th with a score of 710 at the IHSAA Girls Golf State Finals at the Prestwick Country Club in Avon.
In 1998 Bloomington North shot a 380 and placed 13th after the first round of the IHSAA Girls Golf State Finals at the Prestwick Country Club in Avon. The Cougars missed the cut and did not advance to the second and final round of the state finals. ...

Kevin King is a 2015 Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame Inductee. King Graduated from Bloomington South in 1979 and was Standout in Football, Wrestling and Track for the Panthers.
King was a First-team All-State or State champion in all 3 sports. King was an All-State fullback-linebacker in football. In wrestling he won the heavyweight division despite being undersized, often giving up 50-60 pounds; went 27-2 in senior year of wrestling and 66-11 in his career. In track he was the State discus champion and the set the meet record of 189-9) along with a 2nd place finish at State in shot put and won the IHSAA Mental Attitude award.
King competed for Indiana University in 2 sports as he won 2 football letters and 5 track letters and set school record in discus.
King was inducted in Indiana Track and Field Hall of Fame in 1985 and the Indiana Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2014. King coached football at Center Grove and working at Belzer Middle School in Lawrence Township in Marion County at the time of his induction in 2015 King has been married for over 30 years, and has two children ...

In 2025 Edgewood and West Vigo share the Western Indiana Conference Girls Soccer Championship with a 4-1 Record. West Vigo beat Edgewood 3-2 in a Penalty Kick Shootout after a 1-1 draw in regulation at West Vigo.
In 2025 Edgewood beat West Vigo 5-0 at Edgewood to win the Western Indiana Conference Boys Soccer Championship with a 5-0 Record. Its Edgewood's first Conference Title since 2016.
